  18. Someone recommended that I try posting this problem here. I seem to be
  19. having a problem using communications software with Windows.  However, I
  20. can use DOS software with no trouble whatsoever.

  22. I can use my modem with Terminal or Trumpet Winsock and everything seems
  23. to run smoothly.  I log off and the modem seems to release the line
  24. properly (I hear a click and then see an OK in my Terminal window).

  26. The problem occurs when I try to close the comm software - my system
  27. freezes.  Neither the mouse nor the keyboard work.  I'm forced to reboot. 
  28. I had the same problem with my last modem, a Zoom 14.4 v.32.
  29. Some software packages like Comit for Windows freeze during setup while
  30. it tries to detect the modem.

  32. I don't mind using DOS, but I would really like to be able to work in 
  33. Windows as well.  Is this problem rare?  I haven't had any luck finding 
  34. an answer so far...  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
