- Hi,
-
- Someone recommended that I try posting this problem here. I seem to be
- having a problem using communications software with Windows. However, I
- can use DOS software with no trouble whatsoever.
-
- I can use my modem with Terminal or Trumpet Winsock and everything seems
- to run smoothly. I log off and the modem seems to release the line
- properly (I hear a click and then see an OK in my Terminal window).
-
- The problem occurs when I try to close the comm software - my system
- freezes. Neither the mouse nor the keyboard work. I'm forced to reboot.
- I had the same problem with my last modem, a Zoom 14.4 v.32.
- Some software packages like Comit for Windows freeze during setup while
- it tries to detect the modem.
-
- I don't mind using DOS, but I would really like to be able to work in
- Windows as well. Is this problem rare? I haven't had any luck finding
- an answer so far... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
